Gdansk, December 2000 - The social work team from Wrzeszcz in Gdansk has got a reward from the Polish Ministry of Labour and Social Policy for their "community activity" which meant mainly support for the elderly organization Wrzos and Mrs Dunajska's project plan for training volunteers. There were 10 such rewards nation-wide and of course many willing "contributors" to the success. Before informing you, we wanted to check if Matra was adequately mentioned in the application, and it was! - Przemek Oniszczuk, deputy local coordinator Matra COP project.

Social Front soldiers

The fight against social problems in Poland is a tough one.

It looks like an ongoing social war.

Being a Polish Social Worker is a hard job, with a low status. The workers are like brave soldiers in an everyday battle at the social front.

One should pay tribute to them.

I do. I love you ladies.

Don't ever give up!
